Family Life

In Our Hands is passionate about working and raising families simultaneously – and most importantly gaining an awareness that these must and should go hand in hand.

During the initial production of Baba’s Song, we engaged in research to discover more ways to make a family life in theatre more possible. Alongside the 2018 production of Baba’s Song, we had open discussions with theatre venues and other theatre professionals, and critically observed our own working process. Our hope was to both learn about the current climate for working theatre mothers and propose a positive, cohesive working model to share with other theatre mothers for the future. Our aim is to uncover more ways to make a family life in theatre more possible. Read more about our research here.
